Celtic Steps in Killarney puts All-Ireland champion dancers and serious traditional musicians on one stage, and the ninety minutes go by in about ten. I’ll have the tickets and the right seats sorted — it’s the evening my guests plan the rest of the trip around.
The show is only the start of it. The real thing lives in the pubs — a session in Doolin or Dingle where the music starts when it starts — and in the dancing itself. I’ve won the All-Ireland twice at sean-nós, the old style, and if the night is right you’ll see me take the floor. One guest’s letter on the reviews page still mentions her twirl.
